Jewish Weddings in Thailand

Ancient Tradition,
Extraordinary Setting

A Jewish wedding is one of the most joyful and spiritually rich ceremonies in any faith. I work with you to create a ceremony that honors your heritage, whether that means a halachically-focused service or a celebration of cultural diversity, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Thailand.

Planning from abroad? I make it easy. We meet virtually, build your ceremony together, coordinate with local vendors, and ensure that when your moment arrives, everything flows with grace and intention.

🕍 The Chuppah

The wedding canopy — symbol of the home you build together. I help you design a chuppah that reflects your aesthetic, whether draped in tropical flowers or adorned with your family's tallit.

📜 The Ketubah

Your Jewish marriage contract, read aloud and signed before the ceremony. I can guide you to beautiful, inclusive ketubah texts — from traditional Aramaic to contemporary interfaith versions.

💍 Ring Exchange

The exchange of rings — "Harei at mekudeshet li" — adapted for every couple, including same-sex and interfaith pairs, with warmth, inclusivity, and deep meaning.

Sheva Brachot

The Seven Blessings bring joy, community, and poetry to your ceremony. I can incorporate them in Hebrew, English, or both — shared by loved ones or recited together.

🍷 Kiddush Cup

Sharing wine — a symbol of the sweetness of life and the covenant you make together. This beautiful ritual can include your families and guests in a moment of shared blessing.

🥂 Breaking the Glass

The beloved and exuberant finale — Mazel Tov! I explain its layered meaning to all your guests, making this moment resonant for everyone present, regardless of faith.

Tailored to Your Level of Observance

Traditional

Conservative / Masorti

Halachically grounded ceremonies honoring traditional Jewish law, with proper witnesses, separate sections where desired, and full Hebrew liturgy.

Progressive

Reform / Liberal

Egalitarian ceremonies that honor Jewish values and ritual while embracing modern family structures, gender-inclusive language, and creative expression.

Cultural

Secular / Humanistic

For couples who cherish their Jewish identity and its beautiful traditions without emphasizing religious content — celebrating culture, history, and family.

Two Traditions,
One Beautiful Story

Love doesn't keep to one faith. When two people from different backgrounds come together, their ceremony should honor both and welcome every guest fully. I'm experienced in weaving Jewish traditions with those from Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, and secular backgrounds.

My specialty is making ritual accessible. I work with sensitivity and skill to navigate family dynamics, ensuring that parents, grandparents, and guests from both sides feel seen, included, and moved, no matter their level of Jewish knowledge or faith background. No one needs to feel like a guest at someone else's ceremony.

Let's Talk

Jewish & Christian

Weaving the chuppah and ketubah alongside Christian vows, Scripture readings, or unity candles, honoring both traditions with equal reverence.

Jewish & Buddhist / Hindu

Incorporating elements such as Sai Sin, Saat Phere, or the Septa Durgha alongside Jewish ritual in a deeply meaningful fusion.

Jewish & Secular

For couples where one partner is Jewish and the other non-religious — building a ceremony rich in meaning and beauty without religious pressure.

Family Sensitivity

Experienced in navigating multi-faith families, creating space for every voice, every tradition, and every cultural expectation with warmth and care.

Planning from Overseas

Most of my couples plan from the U.S, UK/Europe, Australia, Israel, or Thailand itself. All consultations are by video call, and I coordinate directly with your Thailand-based vendors.

Fully Custom Script

Your ceremony script is entirely bespoke — written for you, reviewed together, and refined until every word feels like your own. Nothing is off-the-shelf.

Lifecycle Ceremonies

Celebrating Every Sacred
Moment of Jewish Life

Life is full of milestones that deserve to be marked with intention, community, and joy. Whether you're welcoming a new child or celebrating a coming of age, I lead meaningful ceremonies across Thailand. Since I follow Reform/Progressive Jewish doctrine (recognizing Patrilineal as well as Matrilineal descent), I ensure that all Jewish families can share in the warmth and joy of these simchas.

"In Judaism, our people create a Mishkan wherever they go. Whether you're standing under a chuppah in Samui or naming a baby in Bangkok, these rituals carry the same depth...and the same joy."

About Me

A Warm Guide for
Life's Sacred Moments

I'm Alec Goldman — a Jewish celebrant, educator, and community builder based in Bangkok for over two decades. I came to Thailand with a deep love of Jewish tradition and a belief that meaningful ritual should be available to every Jewish and interfaith family, wherever in the world they find themselves.

My background is in education and pastoral care, both secular and Jewish. I've trained with rabbis and clergy across three continents, and I've had the profound honor of officiating many weddings and lifecycle ceremonies, from intimate beach ceremonies in Koh Chang to full interfaith celebrations in Bangkok, Samui, Krabi, Phuket, and beyond.

I work with couples and families at every level of observance, from deeply traditional to proudly secular. My approach is always the same: deeply personal, warmly inclusive, and entirely free of judgment.
